It’s said that when the wedding is over you’re just left with the photos and your memories. But that’s not the case because a specially designed nostalgic gift such as a keepsake box can be given to the bridal couple. The box can help preserve such things as a few dried flowers from the wedding bouquet, wine glass charms, a champagne cork, some confetti, the pen with which the happy couple signed the register, and a photo of the wedding day.
My favourite theme this month has been the Things Vintage Peony Collection, an elegant and beautiful flower whose meanings include romance, prosperity, good fortune and a happy marriage. The name Peony is also a Greek baby name meaning flower.
Wedding centre pieces can add that special touch and a picture-perfect opportunity to show off your style. There are many options to choose from, but it can be kept simple with an arrangement of foliage or flowering plants in pretty pots – stylish and cost effective.
I really like the idea of placing a few eye-catching tealight holders around a reception room as the atmosphere is immediately transformed into something special - using LED candles also provides a safe way to display them.
June Birth Flowers and Birthstone
The birth flowers for the month of June are roses and honeysuckle and on the internet one of the garden centres wrote “these flowers weave romance into a garden” which aptly fitted into my blog about wedding ideas this week.
The most common birthstone associated with the month of June is the pearl. For the romantics out there, like me, the ancient Greeks held the belief that pearls were the tears of joy of Aphrodite, the goddess of love.
