Happy New Year from all at Palm Pot and Peony
We’ve been looking forward to presenting our New Year designs and so here’s a taster of the pots and boxes that will appear “with 2020 vision” (which according to Wikipedia commonly refers to the clarity of vision). But, we must admit we’ve had a little help. For example, the most viewed home décoration items on Instagram included the designer, and inventor of the term "Jungalow" (jungle + bungalow) consisting of plant-filled, tropical inspiration. Glamourous interiors using metallics are shown as really popular. And another most followed post which took my eye included a design for a “Gentlemen’s study” using damask patterns. A set of posts was described as “for a pattern junkie who lives for summer palettes”. My final favourite decorating design was a photo of an upcycled pink wooden tea trolley set against a turquoise wooden kitchen cupboard and combined with a modern interior.
This year our terracotta pots and wooden box collections are based around the following themes. They are made to order and therefore each one is unique – we will be announcing new designs each month.
Say it With Flowers
Cool and Classic
Tropical and Palm Leaf
Gold and Metallic
Wedding and Anniversary
Being less wasteful
Our New Year’s Resolution is to do our best to be less wasteful in everything we do. You may not be aware that our re-useable terracotta pots are sourced from Europe, mainly France, Spain and Italy.
Flower of the month
The birth flower for the month of January is the carnation although the snowdrop is listed as an alternative. The carnation represents love.
Birthstone of the month
The birthstone for January babies is the garnet. The name is derived from the Latin “granatum” meaning “pomegranate” because the crystals resemble the red fruit-like form.
Best wishes from the PPP Team.
